Arts Festival Fever

From the middle of June through to the middle of July 2008, Balinese community is overwhelmed by arts festival fever. This annual art extravaganza known as Bali Arts Festival (BAF) was first held in 1978 and continues to flourish up to this moment.
A no less important purpose is that BAF should be capable of discovering and preserving Balinese arts. It has been estimated that, due to the rapid rate of modernization, these creative arts could become non-existent. BAF, in fact, over twenty five years of the organization, continues to encourage and re-establish the Balinese arts which almost died out. The appearance of new creation arts inspired by Balinese Arts once reached its golden period during the ninth to fourteenth centuries. Have a nice holiday in Bali!
As well as taking advantage of the annual school vacation, BAF also gives artists freedom to express their competence in art. Schoolchildren who are enjoying a month-long vacation are encouraged to fill their spare time by creating beneficial art capable of expressing the growth and development of art in Bali.
